Warrants Issued for Daim Zainuddin's Sons
A Malaysian court has issued warrants for two sons of Daim Zainuddin for avoiding MACC investigation
Two bald eagles were safely rescued after becoming tangled in a power line while fighting in Surrey. The unusual incident drew attention from local residents before emergency crews and wildlife experts stepped in to help free the birds.
According to the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, the eagles likely became entangled during a territorial fight, which is common during nesting season. At this time of year, bald eagles are known to aggressively defend their nests and young, which can sometimes lead to dangerous situations like this one.
Photos from the scene showed the two large birds hanging upside down from a power line, their legs tightly wrapped and wings spread as they faced each other. The situation was risky not only for the birds but also because of the live electrical wires.
Crews from BC Hydro quickly responded after being alerted and temporarily shut off power to the line to ensure a safe rescue. At the same time, Surrey Fire Services arrived with a ladder truck to assist in reaching the trapped eagles.
A trained member of the wildlife rehabilitation team was lifted up in a bucket alongside firefighters. During the rescue, one person carefully handled the wires while another used protective gloves and controlled movements to separate the birds. The process required patience and precision to avoid harming the eagles.
Once their talons were untangled, both birds were released and immediately flew away in opposite directions. Officials confirmed that neither eagle appeared to be injured, making it a successful and rare rescue operation.
Wildlife experts noted that such incidents highlight the challenges birds face in urban areas, especially during breeding season. However, they also said this case had the best possible outcome, as both eagles were able to return safely to the wild and likely back to their nests.
