Authorities in the United States have confirmed that the body of one of two missing students from University of South Florida has been found, while the search continues for the second missing student. The case has shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about safety.

According to officials, the remains of 27-year-old Zamil Limon were discovered on the Howard Frankland Bridge, which connects major parts of the Tampa Bay area. The discovery was made on Friday morning after days of investigation.

Law enforcement officers have taken Limon’s roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih, into custody. He is facing several preliminary charges, including domestic violence, battery, false imprisonment, tampering with evidence, failure to report a death, and unlawfully moving a body. Police have not yet confirmed the exact sequence of events but say the investigation is ongoing.

The case began when both Limon and his partner, Nahida Bristy, also 27, were reported missing on April 16. The couple, originally from Bangladesh, were doctoral students at the university. Limon was studying geography and environmental policy, while Bristy was pursuing chemical engineering.

Authorities said Limon was last seen at his residence in a student housing complex, while Bristy was last spotted about an hour later at a campus science building. Concern grew when a family friend was unable to contact them and reported them missing to the police.

Investigators responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence located near the university campus. When officers arrived, they safely evacuated the suspect’s family members from the house. The suspect initially communicated with authorities but later stopped responding and barricaded himself inside.

A SWAT team was deployed to handle the situation. After some time, the suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident.

Police officials have emphasized that the investigation is still active, and efforts are ongoing to locate Nahida Bristy, who remains missing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the search.

This tragic case has deeply affected the university community and highlights the importance of timely reporting and intervention in situations involving potential violence.
