Rising cricket talent Yashasvi Jaiswal has provided a health update following his stint at Aditya Birla Hospital, where he was treated for severe stomach issues encountered during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. He faced significant discomfort during the match between Mumbai and Rajasthan and was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. Reports indicated a weight loss of over 2 kg within just 48 hours, leading doctors to advise a recovery period of 7-10 days.
Expressing gratitude towards his supporters, Jaiswal took to X (formerly Twitter), stating, "I sincerely appreciate all the warm wishes. I’m on the mend, thankful for the excellent medical care, and eager to return to the pitch soon!"
According to sources, food poisoning may have been the culprit, stemming from a meal consumed at his hotel. His condition began to improve with prompt medical care, which included both an ultrasound and CT scan. Doctors have prescribed ongoing medication and emphasized the need for adequate rest.
Due to his current health situation, Jaiswal is likely to miss the initial fixtures of the domestic one-day Vijay Hazare Trophy, set to commence on December 24. Nevertheless, he is projected to be fit for India’s upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.
During the SMAT encounter, Jaiswal faced stomach cramps, with his health deteriorating post-match. With proper recuperation and care, the promising young batter is optimistic about his swift return to cricket.
