Opening the meeting, the Cabinet commended HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for his unwavering efforts to ease regional tensions, advocate for peace, and foster diplomatic dialogue as a primary avenue for conflict resolution. These initiatives are deemed vital for enhancing both regional and global stability while ensuring uninterrupted energy supply along crucial maritime routes.

The Cabinet also underscored various diplomatic endeavors undertaken under the Amir’s guidance. Notable among these were his talks in Muscat with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, alongside discussions in Doha with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and European Council President Antonio Costa. Moreover, the Amir was actively involved in a joint assembly in Antalya, Türkiye, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistan's Prime Minister during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026. Additionally, he engaged in a meeting with Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II in Doha.

Expressing hope for ongoing mediation efforts to be widely supported, the Cabinet aims to fortify the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. It reiterated the call for sustained, good-faith negotiations for achieving enduring peace, maintaining regional harmony, and safeguarding the well-being of the region's populace.
