Youth Engage in Eco Tour at Amu Darya Nature Reserve

A vibrant two-day eco-tour took place at the Amu Darya State Nature Reserve in Turkmenistan, uniting youth eager to elevate their understanding of environmental issues and sustainability.

Organized by the “Young Naturekeeper” public organization, this initiative was backed by the United Nations Development Programme and the Global Environment Facility. It aims to preserve and sustainably manage ecosystems in the Aral Sea area.

The initiative seeks to boost ecological awareness among young participants, fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the reserve's unique ecosystems and learn directly from the natural world.

Under the guidance of experts, participants navigated coastal forests, where they encountered rare bird species and diverse wildlife, enriching their comprehension of biodiversity and conservation efforts.

The tour emphasized hands-on learning, showcasing modern strategies for nature protection and encouraging sustainable lifestyle choices, like eco-friendly dietary practices.

One participant, Bahargul Kuliyeva, a volunteer, expressed that the eco-tour deepened her appreciation for nature, inspiring her commitment to environmental protection.

To conclude the event, certificates of appreciation were awarded to engaged participants, acknowledging their dedication to fostering environmental awareness.

The organizers remarked that initiatives like this are crucial for nurturing an ecological culture among youth and inspiring active involvement in future conservation efforts aimed at safeguarding natural resources and ecosystems.
