Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place around the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi due to A.R. Rahman’s upcoming concert titled “Harmony of Hearts,” scheduled for Saturday evening. The event is set to run from 6 pm to 10 pm, with traffic control measures implemented in the vicinity for safety and crowd management purposes.
Officials have indicated that streets such as IP Marg, Vikas Marg, and the Ring Road stretch between Rajghat and IP Depot may experience heavy traffic congestion. Should it become necessary, traffic on IP Marg and Vikas Marg will be redirected, and heavy vehicles will be prohibited from moving from Rajghat toward IP Marg during concert hours. Commuters are encouraged to avoid these routes from 12 noon to 11 pm on December 20 to ensure smoother travel.
Additionally, the announcement outlined specific parking regulations. Limited parking is available exclusively for vehicles displaying valid parking labels near the stadium. All vehicles must exhibit this label prominently on the windscreen, including the vehicle number. Vehicles without valid labels will be denied access near the event. Those with parking labels are directed to approach the Ring Road and enter through MGM Road.
No parking will be permitted along either side of the Ring Road between Rajghat and the IP flyover during the concert. Vehicles in violation of this advisory will be subject to towing and legal repercussions.
For attendees, entry can be made via gates 7 and 8 from Velodrome Road, while gates 21, 22, and 23 are accessible from MGM Road on the Ring Road side. Gates 16 and 18 will also be open for entry from MGM Road. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys beforehand.
