The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare in Thailand has launched the “End Child Labour 2026” initiative, aiming to safeguard children’s rights and eradicate child labour. This nationwide campaign will span the entire month of June, inviting involvement from businesses, educational institutions, students, employers, and the public.
Rear Admiral Saroj Khomkai, the Director-General of the Department, made it clear that the campaign aligns with World Day Against Child Labour, which occurs annually on June 12. The initiative aims to bolster community awareness, motivating various societal sectors to collaborate in establishing a Thailand free from child labour.
Scheduled from June 1 to June 30, 2026, the campaign embraces the theme “End Child Labour 2026.” Supporters are encouraged to capture photographs with the designated campaign symbol at workplaces, schools, or community centers. Additionally, they can produce awareness materials, posters, and concise videos advocating against child labour.
A significant public event is planned for World Day Against Child Labour on June 12 at Surasakmontri School, starting at 1:30 PM. This event will also be live-streamed on the Department’s official Facebook page, ensuring nationwide participation.
The Department encourages students, university groups, employers, and organizations to share their campaign efforts across social media using the hashtag #EndChildLabour2026. Officials believe that social media engagement will amplify awareness and motivate broader public involvement in protecting children from exploitation.
Participants are invited to submit evidence of their activities or online campaigns via a Google Form from June 12 to July 1, 2026. Those who fulfill the campaign requirements will be awarded an electronic certificate from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, acknowledging their contributions.
The Labour Department stressed that the fight against child labour demands cooperation across all sectors. Officials highlighted the importance of ensuring children grow up in secure and nurturing environments as crucial for Thailand’s future development and the promotion of a more equitable society.
