This precaution comes in response to ongoing health crises stemming from the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in regions of East and Central Africa.
In an advisory released on Saturday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested Emirati nationals to delay any non-essential travel to these three nations and to stay informed about the latest updates concerning the Ebola outbreak.
The ministry emphasized that this advisory reflects the UAE government's dedication to safeguarding the health and safety of its citizens who are traveling outside the country. Authorities are diligently monitoring the situation and offering support to help travelers make informed choices.
Emirati citizens presently in Uganda, DR Congo, or South Sudan are urged to exercise heightened caution and adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols laid out by local agencies. The ministry also recommended that residents keep an eye on updates regarding the disease's spread.
Moreover, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs encouraged citizens located in impacted regions to register with the "Twajudi" service, which helps UAE authorities stay connected with citizens abroad and ensures assistance during emergencies.
The ministry reminded Emiratis overseas that they can seek help through its specialized emergency hotline for urgent matters or immediate aid.
