In Thailand, a significant controversy has erupted as Siranudh Scott, a member of the renowned Singha beer dynasty, has publicly accused his elder brother of sexual abuse that reportedly spanned over a decade. These heartfelt allegations have ignited a nationwide conversation and extensive discourse on social media.
Siranudh, often called “Psi,” shared an emotional video online, expressing his wishes to no longer be labeled as a “Singha heir.” He revealed that the public remains unaware of the harrowing truths about his family dynamics and personal battles. According to him, the abuse began at the age of 12 and persisted until he turned 24.
At 29, the environmental activist detailed how these traumatic experiences unfolded within family homes, negatively impacting his emotional stability and future relationships. He alleges that several family members were privy to his trauma yet failed to intervene, despite his repeated pleas for support.
Siranudh claims to have evidence to back his assertions, including an audio recording he shared on social media, which he states family members had previously heard. He disclosed that tensions over inheritance and property matters linked to his late grandfather have further complicated family dynamics.
The shocking allegations have drawn immense attention, given that the Bhirombhakdi family is one of Thailand’s most influential business clans, notable for their Singha beer empire. Siranudh expressed a desire to sever ties with a family context that, he argues, has not offered him the understanding or support he needs.
In response, Sunit Scott has categorically denied all charges brought forth by his brother. In a video statement posted online, he labeled the allegations as false and distressing. While he admitted that childhood disagreements occurred, he firmly rejected the notion of sexual abuse.
Sunit also addressed the released audio, claiming he was unaware of its covert recording. He mentioned that previous attempts had been made to mend family rifts and acknowledged having apologized in the past for earlier conflicts.
This case has prompted fervent public discourse in Thailand about family hierarchies, mental health issues, awareness of abuse, and the obstacles faced by victims speaking out against powerful families. Social media activity continues to buzz with discussions as both parties advocate for their perspectives.
