Saiyaara Celebrated at Yellowstone Film Festival 2025

Saiyaara, a standout romantic film in Indian cinema, has received the esteemed Popular Choice Award at the Yellowstone International Film Festival 2025. This musical drama, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has garnered an impressive worldwide total of nearly ₹570 crore since its premiere on July 18, directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF).

Veteran director Mohit Suri, renowned for his successes like Aashiqui 2 and Kalyug, shared that this accolade holds special significance for him, marking his first major award in a 20-year film career. He reminisced about watching the classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge as a child, a pivotal moment that sparked his passion for filmmaking.

During the award ceremony in Mumbai, Suri expressed his thankfulness to YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani for his invaluable support. “Akshaye, I wouldn’t have reached this point without you,” Suri remarked. He also recalled presenting the Saiyaara script to YRF chairman Aditya Chopra and Widhani, both of whom quickly approved the project.

The film’s titular song marked a historic achievement by becoming the first Hindi track to feature in the Billboard Top 10 worldwide, further showcasing its global impact. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s entry into the industry has often been likened to the debut of Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (2000).
