Two 19-year-old men have been charged after a taxi driver was shot dead in North Battleford
In a candid discussion, actor Ranvir Shorey pointed fingers at director Nikkhil Advani and the producer for the disappointing box office performance of the action-comedy Chandni Chowk To China. The film, featuring Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone, had a promising narrative but suffered from lackluster execution, according to Shorey.
He stated, “When the script is strong and the film fails to deliver, the fault often lies with the director and producer.”
Reflecting on the film's journey, Advani had previously remarked, “There were too many influences at play. Akshay and I had one vision, Ramesh Sippy another, and Rohan Sippy along with Sridhar Raghavan had theirs too. Eventually, I felt overwhelmed.”
Originally released in 2009, Chandni Chowk To China starred prominent actors including Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Mithun Chakraborty, and Ranvir Shorey. The storyline follows Sidhu, a simple Delhi cook who is mistakenly identified as a reincarnated Chinese warrior. Despite favorable script elements, the film managed to collect ₹53.45 crore while grappling with a production budget of ₹65 crore.
