Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s first collaboration, Dhurandhar, hits theatres worldwide this Friday, December 5. The spy thriller, set in Pakistan’s gangster hub of Lyari, boasts a strong ensemble cast including Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Akshaye Khanna. The trailer has been widely praised, generating significant buzz for the film.
Advance bookings opened on Monday and crossed the ₹1 crore mark quickly. However, momentum has slowed over the past couple of days. As of Wednesday afternoon, the film has recorded ₹2.28 crore in advance bookings for opening day, with approximately 50,000 tickets sold nationwide. Collections are expected to pick up as more shows are added closer to release.
Initial predictions suggested that Dhurandhar could have one of the biggest Hindi film openings of the year, potentially surpassing films like Chhaava and War 2. However, current trends indicate a more modest start. Trade experts now forecast an opening day collection of ₹18-20 crore net in India, with some conservative estimates closer to ₹15 crore. While this will be lower than the top openings of the year — Saiyaara (₹21.50 crore) and Chhaava (₹31 crore) — the film is still expected to perform well at the box office.
Dhurandhar will release across 5,000 screens in India, offering audiences a high-octane spy thriller experience this weekend.
