Arafah Prayers and Sermon at Namirah Mosque Draw Thousands of Pilgrims

Post by : Bianca Hayes

In the tranquil morning hours, thousands of pilgrims flocked to Namirah Mosque in Arafat to participate in the combined Dhuhr and Asr prayers, followed by the Arafah sermon, all in a serene spiritual setting.

With meticulous planning, Saudi authorities ensured a seamless flow of worshippers in and around the mosque, facilitating comfortable and safe access during the Day of Arafah.

Namirah Mosque, a significant Islamic site, is historically connected to the spot where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) delivered his Farewell Sermon during his last pilgrimage. The mosque derives its name from the nearby Mount Namirah in the Arafat vicinity.

Located approximately 22 kilometers from the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Namirah Mosque ranks as the second-largest in the vicinity of sacred sites. Its striking Islamic architectural features include six 60-meter high minarets, three domes, 10 main entrances, and 64 gates, enabling efficient crowd management.

The mosque is outfitted with cutting-edge technology and facilities, including high-quality audio systems and live broadcasting capabilities to share the Arafah sermon and prayers globally. Modern air-conditioning, shaded courtyards, digital screens, and advanced safety systems assure a secure and pleasant environment for all pilgrims.
