Microsoft Outlook Issues Today Why You Can't Log In

Post by : Sophia Matthew

Users of Microsoft Outlook faced widespread login problems on Monday, as a major outage prevented access to accounts across regions. The disruption mainly affected customers using Microsoft 365, particularly business and enterprise users who rely on the service for daily communication.

According to Microsoft, the issue was linked to a recent system update that caused unexpected sign-in failures. Many users reported error messages such as “too many requests” and experienced repeated logouts, making it difficult to access emails. Reports of the outage began early in the morning and increased sharply as people started their workday.

Data from DownDetector showed a significant spike in complaints, with most users highlighting login issues as the main problem. Frustration also grew on social media, where users criticized the lack of clear communication and updates during the outage.

Microsoft initially attempted to fix the issue by rolling back the recent update. However, the company later confirmed that the rollback did not fully resolve the problem. Engineers continued to investigate the issue and tested additional solutions throughout the day.

By the afternoon, Microsoft reported that services were gradually recovering after further configuration changes. Despite this progress, some users—especially those using iPhones—continued to face access problems. The company advised affected users to manually re-enter their account credentials in device settings to restore access.

The outage also coincided with separate issues affecting Microsoft’s AI tool, Microsoft Copilot, though the company did not confirm a direct connection between the two incidents.

While most services have now been restored, the outage highlights the impact that technical disruptions can have on millions of users who depend on cloud-based platforms for work and communication. Microsoft has stated that it will continue monitoring the situation to ensure full recovery and prevent similar issues in the future.
