Bollywood legend Madhuri Dixit is making her much-anticipated return to television with the intriguing series ‘Mrs Deshpande’ on JioHotstar. With a shocking short teaser released, she gives fans a peek into a storyline filled with twists that seem impossible to predict.

In the captivating 20-second sneak peek, Madhuri can be seen taking off her jewelry, with a sudden transition to her clad in a prison outfit, sporting an enigmatic yet self-assured smile. This glimpse highlights her daring portrayal of a formidable serial killer, marking one of the grimmest parts she has ever taken on.

Previous to this, Madhuri stirred interest via a cryptic post on social media that included remixed lines from her famous songs such as “Ek Do Teen Chaar Paanch Cheh Saath Aath” and “Bholi si surat, ankhon mein masti”, simply captioned “Coming soon.” This immediately ignited speculation among fans about an imminent big reveal.

Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the series is an official adaptation of the French thriller ‘La Mante’. The plot centers on a serial killer willing to assist the police in tracking down a copycat killer, but only while working alongside her estranged son, resulting in a gripping, emotionally charged dynamic.

At the IIFA Awards, Madhuri shared her thoughts on the role: “There’s no conscious effort, but this role came my way, and I thought it’s something I would love to do. It explores a different part of me, and I’m looking forward to it.”
