Sushant Singh Rajput's Family Plans Legal Action Against CBI Report

Post by : Mina Carter

The family of the late Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput is gearing up to take legal action against the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) closure report which they have labeled as an “eyewash” and claim fails to address key aspects of the investigation.

According to the report, Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is classified as a suicide with no signs of foul play involving actress Rhea Chakraborty, her family, or associates. Noteworthy points from the CBI’s findings include:

  • No evidence of illegal confinement, provocation, or instigation leading to Sushant’s tragic decision.

  • No financial misconduct was found. It states that when Rhea and her brother Showik vacated Sushant’s home on June 8, 2020, they took only personal belongings, namely an Apple laptop and the watch given to her by Sushant.

Key Events Leading Up to His Death

The report outlines significant occurrences from June 8–14, 2020:

  • Rhea and Showik had sporadic communication with Sushant, limited to a brief WhatsApp message on June 10.

  • Meetu Singh, Sushant's sister, was present with him from June 8 to June 12.

  • Shruti Modi, his manager, had not visited his residence since February due to an injury.

The CBI indicated that no digital or physical proof showed Rhea or any other suspect had influenced Sushant regarding his death.

Allegations of Threats and Confinement

According to Sushant’s family, Rhea allegedly threatened to reveal confidential medical details. However, the CBI regarded these claims as hearsay and noted a lack of corroborating evidence.

Moreover, the closure report categorically concludes there’s no evidence of Sushant being unlawfully confined or restrained.

Family’s Dissent Against CBI Findings

The family, represented by their lawyer Advocate Varun Singh, has categorically rejected the CBI's conclusions, branding the report as “incomplete” and devoid of crucial documentation. They allege that vital chats, technical data, and medical evidence were omitted from the closure report.

Referring to the report as “flimsy” and “legally untenable,” they assert that the investigation lacked depth. They intend to submit a protest petition aimed at reopening the case and insist on pursuing all avenues until “the truth is revealed.”

If the court accepts the protest petition, this could initiate new legal frameworks or even a supervised re-investigation. Despite the CBI ruling out any foul play, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family is resolute that the investigation remains flawed and they are committed to further legal inquiry.
