After months of speculation, pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have confirmed their romance on social media. Perry shared a series of photos and videos on Instagram, including a selfie of the duo smiling cheek to cheek and enjoying sushi together during a trip to Japan.

The post, captioned “tokyo times on tour and more” with heart and flower emojis removed, is part of a carousel capturing moments from their Japan visit. A recent photo of the pair holding hands has further fueled speculation that the relationship is official.

Trudeau also reshared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) showing the couple with Japan’s former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko. He commented, “Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko.”

Fans reacted enthusiastically online, with one writing, “OH CANADA!!! MAKING IT OFFICIAL!!!” while another commented, “Your happiness is our happiness. All the love to you!”

The pair first sparked rumors in July when they were spotted having dinner in Montreal, followed by Trudeau singing along at Perry’s concert. They made their first public appearance together in October in Paris, celebrating Perry’s 41st birthday while holding hands after a cabaret show.

Trudeau served as Canada’s Prime Minister from 2015 to 2025, leading the Liberal Party before announcing his resignation earlier this year. Perry, a 13-time Grammy nominee, has released seven studio albums, including hits like California Gurls, Hot n Cold, and Roar.
