Joseph Duggar, a former star of the reality show 19 Kids and Counting, has been accused of child molestation in a case linked to a 2020 family vacation in Florida. Authorities confirmed that he is now in police custody and is waiting to be taken to Bay County to face charges.

According to the Bay County Sheriff's Office, Joseph Duggar has been charged with serious offences involving a minor under the age of 12. The case is related to an incident that allegedly took place in Panama City Beach, where the victim, a 9-year-old girl at the time, was on vacation with her family.

Investigators said the alleged incident happened when Duggar asked the child to sit near him. Authorities claim that inappropriate actions took place during that time. The victim later reported the incident, and a recent interview helped move the case forward.

Police stated that the victim’s father later confronted Duggar about the allegations. During that conversation, Duggar allegedly admitted to his actions. Officials said the case was reopened after new details came out during the investigation.

Joseph Duggar, who is now 31, was arrested and booked in Arkansas. He is currently waiting for extradition to Florida, where he will face legal proceedings. Authorities have not yet announced when the transfer will take place.

This case comes years after legal troubles involving his brother, Josh Duggar, who was convicted in 2021 for crimes related to child abuse material and is serving a prison sentence.

The latest case has once again brought attention to the Duggar family. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and further legal steps will follow in court.
