Japan's Inpex Corporation has confirmed its intention to acquire PetroChina's share in the extensive Browse gas fields off the coast of Western Australia. The Browse gas project is recognized as Australia’s most significant undeveloped offshore gas asset and has been subject to discussions for several years.
