Prabhas’s Fauzi Set for Dual Installments with a Historical Prequel

The eagerly awaited film Fauzi, helmed by Hanu Raghavapudi and starring Prabhas alongside Imanvi, is confirmed to release in two parts. This decision comes amid a trend of “sequel fatigue” in the industry, where many high-profile films have promised sequels that remain unrealized. Nonetheless, Hanu Raghavapudi emphasizes a compelling narrative reason for the split.

The first part will delve into a singular aspect of Prabhas’s character, while the subsequent installment will function as a prequel that unravels additional narrative layers. The director mentioned that the sequel will focus on India’s colonial history, drawing on real events and personal anecdotes. “This film encapsulates one world of Prabhas, while the second part will reveal another facet. There’s a wealth of material from our colonial history — narratives that concluded tragically but could have taken a fairy tale route in another scenario. I’ve incorporated some personal inspirations as well,” shared Hanu.

This project signifies Prabhas’s inaugural partnership with Hanu Raghavapudi, known for his success with Sita Ramam. Fauzi is anticipated to be a fictionalized recounting of notable historical occurrences. The first glimpse of Prabhas from the film was released on his birthday, October 23, accompanied by the tagline: A battalion who fights alone. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is slated for a 2026 launch in all South Indian languages and Hindi.

The revelation of Fauzi’s two-part release comes while several notable films have teased sequels yet to come to fruition, including Prashanth Neel’s Salaar, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, and more.
