Sara Mohamed Falaknaz, representing the UAE's Parliamentary Division, took part in a pivotal session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union during its 152nd Assembly in Istanbul.

The Committee on Middle East Questions convened to examine recent developments in the region, focusing on escalating tensions and their repercussions for security and stability. The agenda addressed ongoing humanitarian issues and political hurdles while exploring global efforts aimed at averting further conflict.

In her speech, Falaknaz vehemently condemned the attacks against the UAE, Gulf nations, and Jordan, asserting that such actions are indefensible. She reaffirmed the UAE's strong stance against utilizing its territory, airspace, and waters for aggression towards any nation.

She raised alarm over attacks reportedly linked to Iran, which have targeted civilian regions and critical infrastructures, including airports and essential services. Falaknaz cited these actions as significant breaches of international law and the tenets of peaceful coexistence.

Falaknaz insisted that assaults on civilian entities represent a perilous escalation that threatens regional security as a whole. She reiterated the UAE's unwavering commitment to fostering international and regional initiatives that uphold peace and stability.

Moreover, she highlighted the necessity for political discussions and diplomatic resolutions as the most viable paths to conflict resolution. The growing role of parliamentary bodies in promoting peace, mutual cooperation, and constructive dialogue was also emphasized.

In closing, Falaknaz urged the global community to enhance efforts in safeguarding civilians and ensuring the integrity of essential trade routes and supply chains vital for both regional and global stability.
