Hema Malini, Family Bid Emotional Farewell to Dharmendra

Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24 in Mumbai, was paid a heartfelt tribute in Delhi on November 27, 2025. The prayer meet was hosted by actor-politician Hema Malini, accompanied by her daughter Esha Deol, ex-husband Bharat Takhtani, Ahana Deol, and her husband Vaibhav Vohra, at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, from 4 pm to 6:30 pm.

The event featured a specially curated showreel by director Anil Sharma and his team, celebrating Dharmendra’s iconic journey in Indian cinema. The venue was adorned with elegant white floral arrangements, while dignitaries such as Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Home Minister Amit Shah, Kangana Ranaut, Ravi Kishan, and Ranjeet were present to pay their respects.

Emotionally remembering the superstar, Hema Malini said, “I have shared 57 years with Dharmendra ji. We worked together in nearly 45 films, 25 of which were superhits. On-screen and off, we were a perfect pair.” She also fondly recalled his passion for Urdu poetry and his plans to publish a book, showcasing his lesser-known literary side.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta added, “A personality like Dharmendra is once in a lifetime. His charm, talent, and smile will remain in our hearts forever. His films and legacy will continue to inspire fans worldwide.”
