The romantic-comedy De De Pyaar De 2, featuring Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, is showing impressive box office performance following its release on November 14. Directed by Anshul Sharma, the film is steadily approaching the ₹50 crore milestone.
Initial estimates from the industry reveal a collection of ₹3.50 crore on Day 6 (November 19), catapulting its total domestic earnings to ₹47.75 crore. The first Wednesday saw an overall theatre occupancy rate of 8.84 percent, with night shows attracting the highest audience at 12.37 percent, while evening and afternoon slots followed closely at 8.76 and 8.05 percent. Morning shows had the least turnout, drawing in 6.19 percent.
The cast includes not only R Madhavan but also Ishita Dutta, Meezaan Jaffrey, Javed Jaffrey, and Gautami Kapoor. The soundtrack features compositions by Yo Yo Honey Singh, Jaani, Aditya Dev–Payal Dev, Avvy Sra, and Sagar Bhatia, with lyrics penned by Kumaar, Sagar Bhatia, Jaani, Karan Aujla, and Honey Singh.
R Madhavan reflected on his collaboration with Ajay Devgn, mentioning that their filming environment was devoid of competition. He highlighted Ajay’s emphasis on storytelling over individual accolades, which fostered a cooperative atmosphere. Madhavan acknowledged that Ajay’s calm demeanor contributed to a nurturing set, enhancing performers' confidence.
