On Saturday, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) received the green light from the Delhi Police to conduct a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. This demonstration seeks the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan due to the alleged NEET paper leak, raising concerns among students and parents nationwide.
Abhijeet Dipke, the party's founder, flew in from the United States just a day earlier. Upon arrival at the airport, he was met by Delhi Police officials who facilitated his journey to the designated protest area.
Initially, Dipke instructed his supporters to congregate at the Parliament Street Police Station for permission. However, with official approval in hand, he directed everyone to proceed directly to Jantar Mantar.
To ensure safety, approximately 2,000 law enforcement personnel have been stationed around the protest site and throughout Central Delhi, with heightened security measures in place to maintain order during the demonstration.
A distributed pamphlet highlights the protest’s goal: to demand accountability, seek justice for the students impacted by the leak, and call for Pradhan's resignation. This effort has reportedly garnered over eight lakh signatures on a petition supporting this demand.
Founded on May 16, the Cockroach Janta Party began as a satirical initiative and gained swift traction online amid controversy involving Chief Justice Surya Kant. The movement has quickly amassed millions of followers across social media platforms.
As the protest unfolds, major public interest surrounds examination integrity and student rights, critical topics in the current national dialogue. Authorities are keeping a close watch as activists gather to express their grievances in the heart of the capital.
