Bollywood Icon Dharmendra Passes Away at 89, Leaves Lasting Legacy

Bollywood's beloved actor Dharmendra has sadly passed away at the age of 89 on Monday, November 24th. He had been recuperating at home following a recent health scare. Dharmendra is survived by his two spouses, Prakash Kaur and actress Hema Malini, along with his six children, including famed actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

Messages of condolence flooded in from the film industry. Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar, who collaborated with him on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, referred to him as a “legend of Indian cinema” and noted the deep love and positivity Dharmendra shared with everyone around him. He remarked that Dharmendra’s warmth would be profoundly missed.

Stars like Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani also took to Instagram, sharing cherished memories and heartfelt tributes. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar described the loss as “the end of an era,” commending Emir's unique humor and lively spirit.

Dharmendra starred in many classic films, including Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Chupke Chupke, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, and Yaadon Ki Baraat. He later embraced character roles in films such as Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Johnny Gaddaar, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani.

His last project, Ikkis, is scheduled to premiere next month.

The He-Man of Bollywood has left us. Dharmendra’s remarkable legacy will continue to inspire generations.
