The Abu Dhabi Registration Authority (ADRA), part of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, has unveiled a Remote Visual Inspection Service designed to modernize business oversight and make it easier to operate in the emirate. This innovative initiative enables inspectors to assess economic licenses via secure video communication, thereby removing the necessity for in-person visits and facilitating faster, more accessible inspection practices for businesses.
This service marks a significant milestone in ADRA’s broader initiative to refine regulatory processes and nurture business expansion. By adopting a digital inspection approach, the authority aims to minimize waiting times, enhance service quality, and promote greater transparency in monitoring economic activities. This shift is part of Abu Dhabi’s broader vision to foster a robust and competitive business environment.
With remote inspections, establishments can anticipate quicker feedback regarding compliance and operational standards. The system bolsters regulatory governance while enabling inspectors to efficiently verify adherence to commercial guidelines. Additionally, it improves safety checks and raises awareness among business operators about regulatory requirements.
Inspection has historically been critical for ADRA in ensuring businesses comply with legal and commercial standards throughout the emirate. Last year, a commendable satisfaction rate of 96% was reported among businesses that underwent inspections, underlining confidence in regulatory oversight and its vital role in safeguarding consumers and investors.
His Excellency Mohamed Munif Al Mansoori, Director General of ADRA, expressed that the service represents a significant step forward in Abu Dhabi’s digital transformation journey. He highlighted that the system will streamline processes, improve regulatory compliance, and reinforce the emirate's reputation as a premier business hub.
Al Mansoori noted that the new mechanism not only enhances inspection efficiency but also fosters direct communication between inspectors and businesses. This strategy increases compliance awareness and encourages entities to implement best practices in safety and operations. He reaffirmed ADRA’s commitment to integrating modern solutions that enhance the investment climate and create an environment supportive of entrepreneurship and talent.
The Remote Visual Inspection Service is anticipated to expedite license approvals, ease administrative burdens, and strengthen trust within the business community. Emphasizing innovation, compliance, and investor support, this initiative showcases Abu Dhabi’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a more adaptable and future-oriented business ecosystem.
