On April 17, 2026, Vietnam's Government unveiled a set of important directives addressing various key areas including social welfare, administrative reforms, and infrastructure enhancement. These measures showcase the government's ongoing commitment to improving governance, expediting development initiatives, and fostering a sense of unity among citizens.

One significant aspect of these directives is the planned activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs. This initiative aims to honor the brave martyrs and those who contributed to the nation’s liberation and progression, while instilling awareness amongst citizens about the historical and humanitarian ethos of the country.

The directives specifically focus on enhancing the well-being of individuals who have served the revolutionary cause. There’s a keen emphasis on raising public consciousness and involvement in movements of gratitude and remembrance, ensuring that these activities uphold respect and align with national traditions.

In parallel with social endeavors, ministries have been tasked with promptly completing legal frameworks and improving policies concerning ethnic and religious affairs. Authorities are expected to boost administrative efficiency and finalize databases related to ethnicity and religion, facilitating prompt responses to community issues.

Infrastructure development is also a significant focus, particularly concerning the advancement of major railway projects. Pham Gia Tuc has urged ministries and local authorities to fast-track crucial projects like the North-South high-speed railway and the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway line, emphasizing quality, effectiveness, and sustainability.

Furthermore, the government has highlighted the necessity of implementing modern urban development strategies, including transit-oriented growth models in key cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. These initiatives aim to enhance connectivity, optimize land usage, and support sustainable urban advancement.

Additionally, authorities have been guided to improve inter-ministerial coordination, strengthen administrative reforms, and ensure the effective communication of policies to the public. The overarching aim is to foster transparency, build public trust, and ensure efficient policy implementation across all sectors.

These directives underline Vietnam’s dedication to harmonizing economic growth, social accountability, and governance reforms, while also valuing historical significance and enhancing national development strategies.
