This initiative, detailed in a directive from Pham Thi Thanh Tra, calls for the Ministry of Interior along with local authorities to bolster welfare efforts, focusing on improving living standards for those who served the nation. The government underscored the importance of preserving policies that honor these individuals.
Officials have been tasked with ensuring the timely distribution of commemorative gifts before April 28, 2026. Special provisions will be made for seriously injured and ill soldiers currently under care, who will receive personal visits from local leaders to provide additional support.
The plan also includes a comprehensive assessment of individuals impacted by wartime chemical exposure. Local administrations will identify those who are residing in temporary or unsafe housing, submitting confirmed lists to facilitate targeted aid and housing solutions.
The Prime Minister has emphasized the necessity for efficient administrative processes to ensure the eligibility and benefit delivery for these individuals proceed without delays. Renovation plans for memorial sites and improvements in facilities dedicated to veterans and their families are slated for the 2026–2030 period.
Moreover, authorities are encouraged to foster widespread community involvement to enhance both material and emotional support for these populations. The ultimate goal is for all individuals recognized for their services, along with their families, to experience a living standard exceeding the community's average by 2030.
This initiative serves as a testament to Vietnam's unwavering dedication to honoring its veterans while promoting national unity and social responsibility during this pivotal historical event.
