The US military executed a precision airstrike targeting suspected ISIS members in Sokoto state, Nigeria, resulting in the deaths of multiple militants. This operation was conducted in partnership with Nigerian authorities, marking a notable escalation in the collaborative fight against terrorism.

According to US Africa Command, the strike was aimed at known ISIS locations used for orchestrating regional attacks. This airstrike follows former President Donald Trump’s warnings regarding an “existential threat” to Christianity in Nigeria, where he threatened military intervention if violence against Christian communities did not cease. Trump endorsed the airstrike in a Carol message while celebrating in Florida.
