Ukraine long-Range Strikes Trigger Russian Threat To Europe

Ukraine has sharply increased its long-range drone attacks inside Russia, targeting key oil and gas infrastructure. These strikes over the past two weeks have caused serious damage to Russian energy facilities and reduced the country’s ability to export oil, affecting its revenues.

According to officials and reports, Ukraine’s attacks have hit a wide range of targets, including drilling platforms, oil refineries, storage depots, and export terminals. Important locations such as Tuapse on the Black Sea and major Baltic ports like Primorsk and Ust-Luga have suffered significant damage. Satellite images and verified videos show fires, destroyed storage tanks, and disrupted operations at these sites.

The impact has been substantial. Reports suggest that Russia may have lost up to 40 percent of its expected oil export profits due to these strikes. The attacks have limited the country’s ability to export millions of barrels of oil per day, reducing a major source of income during a time of global energy instability.

In response, Russia has issued a strong warning to European countries. The Russian Defence Ministry stated that increased support from Europe for Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities could lead to serious escalation across the continent. Moscow warned of “unpredictable consequences” and accused European nations of becoming directly involved in the conflict.

Dmitry Medvedev, a senior Russian official, further intensified the warning by suggesting that companies involved in supporting Ukraine’s weapons production could become potential targets. This statement has raised concerns about the widening scope of the conflict.

At the same time, several European countries have stepped up their support for Ukraine. Germany has committed hundreds of millions of euros to boost Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities and drone production. Norway, Netherlands, and Belgium have also announced funding and agreements to support drone development and supply.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine’s ability to carry out deep strikes inside Russia has now become routine. He emphasized that the country has significantly expanded its domestic defence production, especially drones, reducing its reliance on foreign weapons.

Military analysts believe that Russia is struggling to defend its vast territory from repeated drone attacks. Reports suggest that its air defence systems are not sufficient to cover all critical infrastructure, forcing the use of improvised solutions in some areas.

Ukraine has defended its actions by stating that targeting energy infrastructure is aimed at weakening Russia’s war capabilities. Zelenskyy has argued that financial losses from such strikes could pressure Russia to reconsider continuing the war.

As the conflict continues, these developments highlight a new phase where long-range drone warfare and economic targets are playing a major role, increasing tensions not only between Ukraine and Russia but also across Europe.
