UAE and UK Address Iran Threats and Regional Security in London Meeting

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, convened with Jonathan Powell, the National Security Adviser of the United Kingdom, in London. This meeting aimed to address pressing regional issues and security concerns arising from Iran's assaults on civilian targets within the UAE.

They deliberated on the effects of Iran's missile and drone strikes aimed at civilian infrastructure. Powell voiced strong condemnation of these unprovoked attacks, expressing the UK’s unwavering support for the UAE.

In appreciation, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah acknowledged the UK's backing and assured that the safety of all residents and visitors in the UAE is being maintained.

Further discussions centered on the broader repercussions of such attacks on international shipping channels, global energy dynamics, and economic stability worldwide. Officials from both nations underscored the necessity for enhanced international collaboration to safeguard maritime routes and facilitate the uninterrupted flow of trade.

The dialogue also encompassed strategies to bolster both regional and worldwide efforts aimed at fostering security, peace, and stability across the area.

Additionally, the meeting tackled a variety of topics integral to the robust strategic alliance between the UAE and the United Kingdom.

Attendees included Lana Nusseibeh, UAE Minister of State; Saeed Al Hajeri, Minister of State; and Mansoor Abulhoul, the UAE Ambassador to the UK.
