His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, engaged with Suren Papikyan, Armenia’s Defence Minister, during the ongoing Dubai Airshow at Dubai World Central, which runs until 21 November.
Sheikh Hamdan extended a warm welcome to the Armenian delegation, emphasizing the robust ties shared between the nations. He noted the mutual desire to enhance collaboration in defence, technology, and future industries, stating that stability is essential for fostering sustainable economic growth and continuous advancement.
Minister Papikyan expressed Armenia’s gratitude for the UAE’s backing and reaffirmed his country's commitment to furthering their burgeoning economic, cultural, and technological partnerships. He remarked that the Dubai Airshow serves as a perfect platform for defence leaders and aerospace professionals globally to exchange ideas and explore new cooperation opportunities.
The dialogue during their meeting centered on bolstering conventional and next-gen defence capabilities, incorporating modern systems, and enhancing training initiatives to ensure personnel are well-equipped to manage advanced technologies. Both parties shared perspectives on regional and international happenings, focusing on initiatives aimed at sustaining peace and stability.
The meeting was attended by notable UAE officials including Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and Major General Khalifa Rashid Al Hamli, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defence.
