The Department of Employment in Thailand is amplifying its initiative for Career Clinics aimed at job seekers, including the unemployed, recent graduates, and those dealing with professional challenges in a complicated labor market. This program focuses on delivering tailored career advice and job support in response to economic fluctuations and fast-paced technological advancements.

Somchai Morakotsriwan, the Director-General of the Department of Employment, notes that changing economic dynamics and technological innovations are revolutionizing job opportunities. While certain traditional jobs are fading, they are being replaced by new careers, demanding continuous skill enhancement and knowledge updates for workers to stay relevant.

The Career Clinics initiative offers thorough counseling services that assist individuals in discerning appropriate career paths aligned with their skills, interests, and professional aspirations. This initiative aims to aid those on the lookout for new roles, undergoing career shifts, or encountering challenges and stress in their current jobs.

A standout aspect of this program is its team of skilled career counselors with expertise in psychology. These professionals administer aptitude tests, offer career strategy guidance, assist with job preparation, and suggest skill development programs that correspond with the current job market requirements. Additionally, participants are given insights into self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures.

The Department has set up 28 service locations throughout Thailand and has deployed 38 career counselors and specialized personnel to maximize public accessibility. Alongside in-office consultations, outreach initiatives are underway to connect with communities and individuals who may struggle to utilize government employment services.

In the first seven months of the 2026 fiscal year, the initiative has shown promising results. From October 2025 to April 2026, over 14,000 individuals benefited from the Career Clinics, with 7,749 securing employment, yielding an estimated annual income exceeding 67.5 million baht.

Officials emphasize that this program showcases the government’s dedication to enhancing workforce resilience and supporting citizens during economic adjustments. As employment landscapes continue to change, Career Clinics are anticipated to become increasingly vital in aiding workers to develop sustainable careers, attain financial stability, and improve their overall quality of life.
