Dubai, UAE – December 2025: Dubai Health has reported the successful performance of 234 kidney transplant surgeries since it established its transplant program back in 2016, boasting a commendable success rate exceeding 95%. This initiative exemplifies the remarkable outcomes of cross-sector collaboration in the realm of life-saving healthcare.

The program is executed through collaborations with various entities, including federal and local bodies, as well as the private sector, such as the Ministry of Health and Prevention, Dubai Health Authority, and Mediclinic City Hospital. It aligns closely with the national Hayat Program for Donation and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissue, promoting access to critical medical treatments.

Since its launch, the initiative has succeeded in facilitating transplants for a diverse group of patients, with children constituting 31.2% of the recipients. A total of 120 transplants took place at Dubai Health hospitals, complemented by 90 at Mediclinic City Hospital and 24 at Al Qassimi Hospital. The contributions of both living and deceased donors have played a critical role, reflecting the increased community consciousness regarding organ donation.

His Excellency Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), stated:
"These initiatives underscore a cooperative strategy in organ transplantation and affirm our dedication to providing specialized healthcare. Our leadership is committed to enhancing human health, thereby consolidating Dubai’s role in medical excellence."

Dubai Health guarantees a comprehensive approach to multi-disciplinary care throughout the entire transplant process—from detailed assessments and surgical operations to organized long-term follow-ups, all adhering to the utmost standards of medical excellence.

To support patients, the Al Jalila Foundation runs programs like 'Your Donation Saves Lives,' which promotes organ donation and covers treatment expenses. This initiative has supported 66 patients, accounting for 31.4% of all transplant cases. Additionally, the 'A’awen' program provides essential healthcare services for those lacking access to specialized treatments, showcasing Dubai Health's dedication to healthcare accessibility.

Continuing its commitment, Dubai Health provides specialized kidney care at facilities like Dubai Hospital, Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, Al Twar Dialysis Center, and Al Barsha Dialysis Center, ensuring that patients receive top-tier medical services.
