Shraddha Kapoor Faces Injury on Set; ‘Eetha’ Production Temporarily Suspended

Beloved Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor, known for her diverse roles, has been off the screen since her last film, Stree 2 (2024). Anticipation was high as she began filming her latest project, Laxman Utekar’s Eetha. Unfortunately, production has been halted after she suffered a toe fracture during a dance scene.

The incident took place while she was engaged in a Lavani performance, a traditional dance from Maharashtra characterized by its energetic tempo and lively movements. Reports reveal that the choreography, created by Ajay-Atul, required rapid footwork while adorned in a colorful Nauvari saree and intricate jewelry. To authentically embody the renowned Tamasha performer Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, Shraddha had gained over 15 kilograms for the part. While executing a step, she lost balance and injured her toe.

Director Laxman Utekar promptly paused shooting to ensure Shraddha's safety. Showcasing her commitment, she proposed rescheduling to film close-up emotional scenes that would be less physically demanding. The crew shifted to Madh Island for the new filming location but, after a few days, Shraddha experienced increasing pain, leading to a complete halt in production. Filming is expected to resume in about two weeks once she has fully healed.

Eetha tells the compelling story of renowned dancer and Tamasha artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, shedding light on her significant contributions and challenges in Maharashtra’s traditional arts.

Fans are eagerly awaiting Shraddha's return and sending her heartfelt wishes for a swift recovery. Her commitment to her role, even amid adversity, has only heightened enthusiasm for Eetha and her portrayal of the iconic Vithabai.
