Sharjah University Teams Up with Tamayuz for Excellence Initiative

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, was present for the signing of a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the University of Sharjah (UOS) and the Tamayuz Institutional Excellence Award. The agreement seeks to launch a knowledge enhancement program designed to promote institutional excellence.

Fostering Quality and Competitive Edge

During the event, His Highness underscored the importance of the Tamayuz Award in improving institutional performance and nurturing a culture of quality. He mentioned that valuable insights gained from earlier brainstorming sessions are currently being put into practice to fortify the award's framework.

He asserted that while excellence is found across various institutions, such awards significantly aid in pinpointing top performers and nurturing a competitive landscape that promotes steady improvement. Institutions were also urged to utilize feedback from past award cycles and propose employees for specialized training.

Emphasizing Human Capital Development

The MoU was signed by Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Director of the Tamayuz Award, alongside Professor Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, in front of senior officials.

The agreement prioritizes the enhancement of human capital through specialized training in excellence frameworks. Key initiatives include:

• Diploma in Institutional Excellence for teams

• Job Excellence Program aimed at individual employees

These initiatives are crafted to equip participants with skills essential for developing and presenting excellence portfolios that meet recognized evaluation criteria.

Training Programs Designed for Concrete Outcomes

Dr. Asmaa Nusairi, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development, provided insights into the training program structures.

The Job Excellence Program spans 40 hours of training aimed at enabling employees to translate individual successes into measurable institutional impacts. This includes practical workshops, evaluation simulations, and preparation of comprehensive nomination files.

Conversely, the Institutional Excellence Professional Diploma offers 120 hours of training designed for excellence teams and organizational leaders. This program encompasses all key award categories and includes real-world projects to ensure direct impact in the workplace.
