Saskatchewan has officially joined a big agreement that was earlier signed by Ontario and Alberta. This deal is called a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and it brings the three provinces together to help protect jobs, boost Canada’s economy, and make the country stronger in key areas like energy, mining, and manufacturing.

A Strong Response to U.S. Tariffs

Right now, many Canadian jobs are in danger because of new tariffs from U.S. President Donald Trump. These tariffs make it harder for Canadian companies to sell goods in the United States. In response, Ontario Premier Doug Ford is stepping up to protect jobs and keep the economy strong.

This new partnership between Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan is focused on putting workers first. It also aims to keep Canada less dependent on foreign countries and more able to take care of its own needs.

Key Projects in the MOU

Here’s what the provinces plan to do:

  • Build New Pipelines: These will move oil and gas from Western Canada to refineries in Southern Ontario and a new port at James Bay. All the pipelines will be made using steel from Ontario.
  • Construct New Rail Lines: New railway lines will be built to carry critical minerals from the Ring of Fire area in Northern Ontario to ports in Western Canada. These rail lines will also use Ontario-made steel.
  • Speed Up Big Projects: These projects are meant to support workers in all three provinces and help Canada grow by relying more on its own resources instead of importing from other countries.

What This Means for Canadians

The new deal will help thousands of workers across Canada. It will create jobs in mining, energy, transportation, and steel manufacturing. The partnership also gives Indigenous communities a chance to benefit through fair partnerships in these projects.

By joining hands, Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan are building a strong future for Canada. The deal will:

  • Strengthen the supply chain from the mines to the ports
  • Create better trade routes inside Canada
  • Reduce delays in important projects by pushing for better rules from the federal government
  • Help local companies grow and compete without depending too much on international trade

More Cooperation Across Canada

Since April, Ontario has signed 10 trade agreements with different provinces and territories. These deals are meant to remove rules that make it harder to do business across Canada. Ontario also passed a new law to protect free trade between provinces. It’s called the Protect Ontario Through Free Trade Within Canada Act.

Ontario says that by working together, provinces can build a stronger Canada. The province is focusing on building roads, pipelines, railways, and other projects that will help workers and businesses.

A Shared Vision

Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan all believe in:

  • Responsible development of natural resources
  • Economic freedom for workers and businesses
  • Common-sense planning to make life better for people

They want the federal government to fix slow and unfair rules that delay important projects and make it hard to create new jobs.

This partnership shows that when provinces support each other, the whole country becomes stronger. Canada’s future depends on bold steps like this one, where leaders stand together for workers, local businesses, and a more self-reliant economy.
