A ₹10,000-crore agreement for an integrated township and film production complex has been formalised between the Telangana government and Salman Khan Ventures Pvt. Ltd. during the Telangana Rising Global Summit. The development is being described as one of the biggest creative economy investments in the state’s history, and a significant boost to Telangana’s global brand positioning.

The foundation for this partnership was laid weeks earlier when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Mumbai in late October 2025. During the interaction, the Chief Minister sought Khan’s participation in the “Telangana Rising” campaign, which aims to draw substantial Bollywood investment into the South Indian market.

Salman Khan praised Telangana’s rapid infrastructure growth and the government’s forward-looking approach, expressing willingness to support its global outreach. This positive engagement accelerated further talks, ultimately leading to the MoU for the large-scale studio complex within Bharat Future City.

According to officials, the project will generate thousands of employment opportunities, with both direct and indirect roles spanning construction, film production services, advanced technical jobs, tourism support, retail and hospitality.

The centrepiece of the initiative will be a world-class film studio equipped to handle mega cinematic productions, OTT content creation, post-production, and high-end VFX services. This will help position Hyderabad as a prominent filmmaking hub, capable of hosting projects not only from Bollywood and South Indian industries but also from Hollywood.

The integrated township zone will feature premium infrastructure including a championship golf course, race course, luxury residential spaces, and planned hospitality zones. The combination of entertainment facilities with high-end urban amenities is expected to significantly boost luxury tourism in the region.

Talent development has been included as a core component, with training programmes designed to upgrade the skills of local artists, technicians, and production workers to meet international standards. Officials believe this will build a strong pool of specialised manpower and support long-term creative ecosystem growth.

Welcoming the investment, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that the initiative will “cement Telangana’s position as one of India’s most attractive destinations for filmmaking, entertainment, and luxury urban development.” The state government has committed to ensuring smooth implementation through regulatory support, land planning, and infrastructure connectivity.
