Saanand Verma, widely recognized as Saxena Ji from Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain, is accustomed to comedic moments on-screen. However, he recently opened up about a startling real-life incident where Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover unexpectedly slapped him while filming the web series First Copy. In a candid conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Saanand described the moment as both shocking and intentional.

Saanand remarked, “Gulshan Grover actually slapped me hard in First Copy, for real. Inside, I felt like lashing out, but I stayed quiet. I’m sharing this story for the first time. He meant to do it; it wasn’t just acting.”

He continued, “It wasn’t an ordinary slap for acting purposes. Had he just informed me beforehand, I would’ve prepared myself. Surprisingly, I didn’t react; I kept in character, filmed the scene, and walked away without addressing it afterward.”

When discussing the need to warn actors about real slaps, Saanand emphasized, “It’s essential to inform someone before. But he didn’t say a word and slapped me very aggressively. It felt wrong. Though I was furious, I chose to remain calm and avoid negativity. I even felt like grabbing a chair to hit him, but I simply smiled instead.”

Saanand reflected on how other actors handle such situations, stating, “I’ve heard Anil Kapoor slaps for real but always offers an apology afterward. In contrast, Gulshan didn’t even apologize. He seems overly focused on maintaining his ‘bad guy’ persona.”

Saanand Verma has made significant contributions to both television and film. Best known for his iconic role as Saxena Ji in Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain, his filmography includes titles like Mardaani, Raid, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, and Mission Raniganj. Praised for his comedic flair and adaptability, Saanand has solidified his status as a respected figure in Indian television and cinema.
