Rhea Chakraborty's Journey of Healing, Faith, and Mental Resilience

Rhea Chakraborty's journey over the past five years is one few in the entertainment industry have endured. In the wake of her former partner, actor Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic passing in 2020, Rhea faced both incarceration and social ostracization. She has now been cleared by the CBI, although this decision met with disapproval from Sushant's family. This harrowing experience took a toll on Rhea's mental well-being, leading to PTSD.

Rhea noted that her very public struggles have encouraged others to confide in her about their own mental health challenges. “People felt I could relate to their issues. Old friends began sharing their struggles only after my experiences became public,” she reflected.

During her journey to healing, Rhea shared, “Every morning and night, I'd remind myself of my blessings — even when it seemed there was nothing, I found gratitude in being able to walk, see, and move.”

The actress credits her faith and spirituality for her ability to cope with the turbulent times. “I began reciting the Hanuman Chalisa in 2020, and now I do so at least seven times a day. It's a meditative practice for me,” she disclosed. Close friendships and thoughtful discussions also provided her strength, motivating her to launch her podcast. “Sharing experiences is powerful. People seek understanding. Finding a community that supports and empathizes is crucial for healing,” she said.

Rhea addressed the lingering stigma surrounding mental health, emphasizing that many still mistakenly equate it with “drama” or think one can merely “think their way out” of it. She highlighted that genuine mental health issues often originate from chemical imbalances, which individuals cannot simply control on their own.
