In a significant advancement, Dubai Municipality has marked the 36% milestone in its ambitious stormwater drainage project in Deira, which is part of a AED 500 million investment aimed at bolstering the emirate's flood management system.

Project Highlights

  • Total funding: AED 500 million

  • Area Coverage: 13 key districts across an extensive 4,700 hectares

  • Pipeline expansion: 60 km of new stormwater drainage

  • Current stage: 36% completion in Phase 1

This initiative is crucial for enhancing stormwater management and minimizing flooding risks during heavy rains across critical urban locations.

Areas Under Development

The project encompasses significant areas, including:
Al Qusais (1 & 2), Oud Al Muteena, Mizhar 3, Al Twar (1 & 3), Muhaisnah 4, Al Nahda 2, Al Qusais Industrial Area 1, Al Garhoud, Casablanca Street, Dubai Airport area, and Al Rashidiya.

Engineering Developments
