In an electrifying Game 6, the Detroit Pistons kept their playoff dreams alive, claiming a commanding 115-94 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. This victory equalizes the series at 3-3, leading to a crucial Game 7 showdown set for Sunday in Detroit.

Cade Cunningham was the standout player, scoring 21 points and sinking five three-pointers, steering Detroit through a strong second half and securing one of the most significant playoff road wins in NBA history.

The 21-point margin ties an NBA playoff record for the largest Game 6 road win when a team is down 3-2, a feat last achieved by the St. Louis Hawks against the Minneapolis Lakers in 1960.

Jalen Duren provided solid support with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Daniss Jenkins matched that scoring total. Veteran Paul Reed added 17 points as a key contributor off the bench.

The Pistons’ bench made a significant impact, outscoring Cleveland’s reserves 48-19. Duncan Robinson returned from a back injury to score 14 points, netting four three-pointers.

Detroit’s defensive strategy was pivotal, forcing 20 turnovers that resulted in 28 points. The team also excelled on offensive rebounds, turning 13 into 20 additional points.

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff praised his team's defensive hustle post-game.

The Pistons enjoyed a 54-41 lead at halftime, extending it with a swift 12-2 run in the third quarter. Although Cleveland narrowed the margin to six points at 74-68, Detroit surged back with a 13-2 run to seize control.

A critical missed dunk by Evan Mobley late in the third gave Marcus Sasser the opportunity to hit a buzzer-beater layup, providing Detroit an 84-70 lead heading into the final quarter.

For Cleveland, James Harden led with 23 points, supported by Donovan Mitchell and Mobley, who each scored 18. This marked the Cavaliers' first home loss of the postseason.

Post-game, Mitchell acknowledged that the Cavaliers struggled to counter Detroit’s aggressive opening, while Harden mentioned the team's lack of rhythm.

The victor of Sunday’s Game 7 will secure a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals.
