Paris Jackson, at 27, has candidly opened up about her struggle with addiction and disclosed a significant health issue she continues to deal with post sobriety. In an unguarded social media video that found its way to TikTok, she revealed a perforated septum, which some of her followers might have noted in previous videos.
Jackson used her phone's flashlight to illustrate the hole, stating, “It is from what you think it’s from… don’t do drugs, kids.” While making a light-hearted joke about being able to fit a spaghetti noodle through it, she remarked seriously, “Drugs ruined my life.”
Having been nearly six years sober, Jackson explained she has been living with this condition since she was 20. It has made some music recording sessions a bit challenging, and she chose not to have surgery to fix it due to concerns over the anesthesia involved.
Her comments come after receiving the Shining Star Award at Friendly House's Awards Luncheon, where she reflected on her sobriety journey. “I’m really grateful to be part of a movement that resonates with my higher purpose and daily reprieve,” she shared, adding, “Helping someone develop conscious contact has been the most significant step I've taken, and I hope to continue aiding others.”
As the only daughter of pop legend Michael Jackson, Paris stands alongside her brothers, Prince Michael Jackson, 28, and Bigi Jackson (formerly known as Blanket), 23, as the heirs of the late King of Pop.
By shedding light on her own experiences, Jackson emphasizes the ongoing battle against addiction and its lasting effects, while remaining dedicated to her sobriety and advocacy efforts. Her story aims to shed light on the risks of substance abuse, inspiring others towards healthier decisions.
