Oman Initiates Lung Disease Unit with RO 560,000 Funding

In a major advancement for its healthcare system, Oman recently signed a funding agreement of RO 560,000 aimed at creating an integrated lung disease unit within Khoula Hospital located in Muscat. This initiative, supported by the Al Yusr Charitable Foundation, is designed to elevate specialized respiratory care services offered throughout the Sultanate.

The agreement was officially concluded by Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Alawi, the Director General of Khoula Hospital, and Omar bin Mohammed Al-Farsi, the Director General of Al Yusr Charitable Foundation. This project demonstrates a strengthened collaboration between public healthcare institutions and community organizations to upgrade healthcare infrastructures and broaden access to advanced medical services.

This new facility is in line with Oman Vision 2040 and the Ministry of Health’s aim of providing sustainable and quality healthcare services for the populace. Officials anticipate that this project will bolster the nation's capability in diagnosing and treating respiratory disorders, responding to the escalating need for specialized pulmonary care.

As mentioned by Dr. Rashid Al-Alawi, the integrated lung disease unit is set to introduce cutting-edge medical technologies adhering to global healthcare standards. Expected to commence operations early next year, the facility aims to minimize patient waiting times, enabling quicker and more precise diagnoses for respiratory ailments.
