Montreal is getting ready for one of its biggest holidays of the year — Fête nationale, also known as Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day. The city will celebrate with parades, music, dancing, and special events all day long on June 24.

Fête nationale is an important day for people in Quebec. It celebrates Quebec’s culture, language, and history. People show pride in their province with music, flags, and fun activities. In Montreal, the day is packed with things to see and do.

One of the main events is a big parade that will march through downtown Montreal. It will feature colorful floats, traditional costumes, musicians, and dancers. People of all ages are invited to watch and cheer. The streets will be filled with the blue and white of Quebec’s flag, and families are encouraged to bring kids and join the fun.

There will also be free concerts at several parks across the city. Well-known Quebec artists will perform live music, and local food vendors will serve snacks and drinks. People can bring blankets and chairs and enjoy the summer weather while listening to music that celebrates Quebec’s French-speaking heritage.

In the evening, the celebrations will continue with light shows, fireworks, and cultural performances. At Parc Maisonneuve, one of the city’s largest parks, a special gathering will be held with guest speakers, music, and a festive atmosphere. It’s expected to draw thousands of people.

Organizers of the event say that this year’s theme is about togetherness, pride, and community. They want everyone in Quebec, including newcomers and tourists, to feel welcome and to enjoy the day.

Public transit will be running with extra service so that more people can get to and from the events easily. Some streets will be closed to cars during the day, so visitors are encouraged to take the metro or bus instead of driving.

The city is also making sure that events are safe and family-friendly. There will be first aid stations, security staff, and plenty of information booths to help guide people throughout the day.

Fête nationale in Montreal is not just a holiday—it’s a big party to celebrate what makes Quebec special. Whether it’s your first time or a yearly tradition, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
