A dangerous winter storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall powerful winds and travel disruptions
Kylian Mbappe, the French football superstar and Real Madrid forward, says the lifestyle in Madrid has helped him recover mentally and physically, allowing him to perform at his best on the field. At just 26 years old, Mbappe has already achieved incredible milestones in his career, and he believes that adapting to life in Spain has played a key role in his recent success.
Mbappe joined Real Madrid in June 2024 on a free transfer after a seven-year stay at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). During his time in Paris, he became PSG’s all-time top scorer with 256 goals and won six Ligue 1 titles along with four French Cups. Despite his personal achievements, his final season in Paris did not bring a major trophy for the club.
Since moving to Madrid, Mbappe has had an impressive start to his second season, scoring 14 goals in just 10 appearances across all competitions. His debut campaign at Real Madrid also saw him scoring 44 goals, showing that he is among the world’s most prolific forwards. However, he has noted that maintaining mental and physical balance is just as important as scoring goals.
Mbappe told reporters ahead of France’s World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan, “No career is linear. There can be difficult years, when you have to endure a bit more hardship. But in life, I think I’ve adapted well to Madrid. It’s true that I’m a bit more relaxed. This isn’t an attack on France, but it’s true that I’m more relaxed in Madrid. The lifestyle is different, it’s less hectic than in Paris.”
He added that the slower pace of life in Madrid has allowed him to reset both mentally and physically. “I’ve managed to get myself back on track, to get my head and my legs back in the right place. But it’s only the start of the season. It’s only October, there’s still a lot to play for and there will be a lot to show,” Mbappe said.
The France captain is also focused on his international career. France currently tops Group D in their World Cup qualifiers with six points from two matches. Mbappe is close to making history as he chases Olivier Giroud’s record as France’s all-time top scorer. Giroud, who retired after the 2024 European Championship, holds the record with 57 goals. Mbappe is just five goals away from surpassing this milestone.
Football experts say that Mbappe’s ability to adapt to a new city and league is a sign of his maturity. Not only has he adjusted to Madrid’s football style, but he has also embraced the city’s lifestyle, which has helped him maintain peak performance on and off the field.
Mbappe’s story highlights the importance of balance in professional sports. While talent and hard work are crucial, his experience shows that mental rest, physical recovery, and a supportive environment can play an equally important role in an athlete’s success.
As the season progresses, fans of Real Madrid and the French national team will be closely watching Mbappe. If he continues on his current trajectory, he is likely to break records, lead his teams to victories, and further cement his place as one of football’s all-time greats.
