In a significant ceremony attended by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow and Ding Xuexiang, Turkmenistan has officially inaugurated the fourth phase of the Galkynysh gas field's development. This pivotal event, held in the Mary region, underscored the deepening energy ties between Turkmenistan and China.

This latest phase is set to enhance the capacity by an impressive 10 billion cubic meters of commercial gas each year, alongside the drilling of new production wells. Such advancements are projected to substantially elevate Turkmenistan’s gas output and bolster its position in the international energy market.

During the event, Berdimuhamedow outlined that the national energy strategy not only aims to ramp up exports but also to modernize the energy sector. By embracing innovative technologies and diversifying energy corridors, Turkmenistan is enhancing its reliability as a supplier within Eurasia.

The Galkynysh gas field is one of the world's largest and serves as a cornerstone for Turkmenistan's long-term economic objectives. The ongoing development of this field is pivotal for the nation's transformation from merely exporting raw materials to producing value-added energy products, thus promoting overall industrial advancement.

China's role in this initiative is crucial, with continuous gas shipments through a network of pipelines connecting the two nations. The expansion of Galkynysh, along with plans for further pipeline development, is anticipated to solidify the energy partnership between Turkmenistan and China.

This project also emphasizes environmental stewardship, employing modern technologies aimed at minimizing emissions and maximizing operational efficiency. Officials reaffirmed their dedication to integrating sustainable approaches into expansive energy ventures.

Additionally, the Galkynysh project's development fosters regional economic growth by enhancing local infrastructure, housing, and job opportunities. It is set to uplift the living conditions for communities situated around the area.

The launch of this phase signifies a landmark achievement in Turkmenistan's energy landscape, reinforcing its status as a leading global gas producer and fortifying its economic and strategic partnership with China.
