Jalen Green leads Suns Surge Into NBA Playoffs

Post by : Sophia Matthew

Jalen Green delivered an outstanding performance to guide the Phoenix Suns into the playoffs, scoring 36 points in a 111-96 victory over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA play-in tournament.

The 24-year-old guard was in top form throughout the game, shooting efficiently and showing confidence from long range. He made 14 of his 20 shots, including eight three-pointers, matching his career best. His scoring burst helped Phoenix secure the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, setting up a first-round matchup against the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Green’s performance comes after a challenging season affected by injuries. He missed a large part of the regular season due to a hamstring issue and played only 32 games. During that time, he struggled to find consistency and adapt to his new role after joining the Suns in a major trade that involved Kevin Durant moving to Houston.

Despite those challenges, Green appears to have found his rhythm at the perfect time. His recent performances show strong chemistry with teammate Devin Booker, who contributed 20 points and eight assists in the win. Booker played a key role in creating scoring opportunities, assisting on several of Green’s three-point shots.

Green also received support from Dillon Brooks, as the team continues to build better coordination heading into the playoffs. The trio’s improved teamwork has been crucial in Phoenix’s late push for postseason qualification.

This game also served as redemption for Green, who had struggled in last year’s playoffs against the Warriors while playing for Houston. His strong performance this time showed growth and confidence under pressure.

Suns head coach Jordan Ott praised Green’s offensive efficiency and ability to create scoring chances even in difficult situations. He noted that such skills will be important in playoff games, where defenses are tighter and scoring opportunities are harder to find.

With momentum on their side, the Suns now prepare for a tough first-round series. Green’s return to form could be a key factor as Phoenix looks to challenge one of the league’s top teams in the upcoming games.
