A tragic incident has unfolded as an Indian diplomat, identified as Naren Dhar, was found deceased within the Indian Assistant High Commission premises in Chittagong, raising concerns among diplomatic circles. Dhar was serving as a protocol officer.

Local police discovered the body early in the morning, situated near a bathroom door on the second floor of the old visa center in the mission's compound. Authorities arrived shortly after being alerted and retrieved the body around 9:30 AM.

The deceased was subsequently sent to the mortuary at Chittagong Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. The precise cause of death remains uncertain, and investigators are awaiting autopsy results before making any determinations.

Aminur Rashid, Assistant Commissioner of City Police, confirmed that Dhar, in his late 30s, worked at the Indian mission. Initial observations hinted at a possible cardiac arrest, but the final medical report will clarify the actual cause of death.

Sources from the government mentioned that the Indian High Commission in Dhaka is maintaining communication with the family of the deceased. Reports indicate Dhar hailed from Chandigarh, India. However, no official statement has been issued by the Indian High Commission regarding this incident.

The untimely passing of the diplomat has sparked dialogues among diplomatic circles, particularly due to the vulnerabilities associated with diplomatic missions and their security measures. Local law enforcement has initiated an investigation, examining all potential avenues related to the case.

Officials clarified that further updates would be disclosed following the autopsy conclusions. Until more information is available, the circumstances surrounding the diplomat’s demise will remain under scrutiny as investigators continue to gather evidence and interview mission personnel.
