Giorgio Armani Presents Late Designer’s Final Collection

Post by : Sean Carter

Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani presented the last collection personally designed by its late founder at Milan Fashion Week. The event took place on Sunday at the Brera art museum, right in the heart of Milan, and drew fashion lovers and celebrities from around the world.

A Tribute to “King Giorgio”

Giorgio Armani, known as “King Giorgio” in the fashion world, passed away earlier this month at the age of 91. The show, originally planned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Armani brand, turned into a heartfelt tribute to the legendary designer.

Actors Richard Gere and Cate Blanchett were among the many celebrities attending the show. The Brera art museum’s cloisters were decorated with lanterns, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere for the occasion.

The Collection

The new collection, titled “Pantelleria, Milan”, was inspired by two places close to Armani’s heart. Models walked gracefully under the museum’s porticoes, showcasing light and flowing outfits. The color palette included shades of grey, deep blue, and dark green, reflecting the designer’s timeless and sophisticated style.

Live piano music by Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi added an emotional and artistic touch to the show. The final walk was performed by Agnese Zogla, one of Armani’s favorite models, who wore a stunning blue gown.

“This collection, the last Giorgio Armani worked on personally, is in some ways a testament to style and the close of a cycle, so that new ones may begin,” the brand said in press notes.

Family and Team Honored

At the end of the show, Armani’s niece Silvana and his life and business partner Leo Dell’Orco, heads of design for the women’s and men’s collections, came forward to greet the audience. Their appearance received long and heartfelt applause.

Director Spike Lee said, “I’m humbled that we were invited to come back to Milano to celebrate his excellency.” Cate Blanchett added, “Apart from being an incredible designer, he was a humanitarian and philanthropist.”

Closing Milan Fashion Week

Giorgio Armani’s final collection closed Milan Fashion Week, leaving a lasting impression on designers, models, and fans. The elegance and sophistication of his designs reminded everyone why Armani’s influence on fashion is unmatched.

With Milan Fashion Week concluded, the fashion world now turns its attention to Paris, where designers will showcase the next wave of global trends.
